Wednesday, 3 July 2013
Three Genesis Sixteen (1) Alumni have gained a place in the new National Portrait Gallery ‘Portrait Choir,’ the first ever museum choir in residence. Soprano Sinead O’Kelly, alto Alex Rogers and bass David Maguire join the ensemble led by chorus master Gregory Batsleer. The 22 young performers on the three-year residency gave their inaugural performance on 28 June, part of the gallery’s Late Shift programme.
The choir also performed two daytime concerts on 29 June that featured a newly-commissioned work by composer Ben Parry.
