Carrie Cracknell’s ‘A Doll’s House’ moves to the West End

Following its two sell-out runs, the Young Vic’s award-winning production of Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House will transfer to the West End. The production, directed by Carrie Cracknell will run from 8 August to 26 October at the Duke of York’s Theatre. Carrie has just come to the end of her time as Genesis Fellow and Associate Director at the Young Vic after a successful year culminating in her appointment as Associate Director at the Royal Court. Carrie has also received rave reviews for her directorial debut at English National Opera for her recent production of Alban Berg’s Wozzeck.

Telling the famous story of a woman whose life seems perfect from the outside, but is in fact shot through with lies and deception, The Evening Standard’s Henry Hitchings described A Doll’s House as “wonderfully fresh”, calling it a “sexy, passionate interpretation of Ibsen, potent and emotionally truthful”.
