Ed Fornieles Modern Family at the Chisenhale Gallery receives 4 star review

Ed Fornieles Modern Family at the Chisenhale Gallery receives 4 star review

Tuesday, 7 October 2014

Ed Fornieles’ new exhibition Modern Family, currently showing at London’s Chisenhale Gallery, explores the effects of the information age on the family. This major new body of work has been part-funded by the £25,000 Genesis Prize Polly Staple, director of the Chisenhale Gallery, was awarded earlier this year.

Time Out gave the exhibition 4 stars, summarising it as follows:

“Modern Family’ hits refresh on outdated notions of ‘the American dream’ (Fornieles divides his time between London and Los Angeles) and the result is an environment not so much of art objects, but instead of content. The content, again generated by algorithms from the internet, playfully walks you through subjects as disparate as anorexia, vegetables and children holding hands. This showreel is empowering in its nod to a global, collective consciousness.”

The exhibition will be open until 9 November 2014.
