Genesis Sixteen headlines The Sixteen’s new Sound Sublime Festival

Genesis Sixteen headlines The Sixteen’s new Sound Sublime Festival

Monday, 23 June 2014

On Saturday 19 July St-Martin-in-the-Fields and The National Gallery will resound with music-making by young choral singers including Genesis Sixteen, The Sixteen’s flagship training choir. ‘Sounds Sublime’ is a new one-day festival which aims to bring together some of the best new choral talent in the UK including offshoot ensembles from previous Genesis Sixteen cohorts. The day includes family shows, vocal workshops and a number of surprise pop-up recitals of historically-relevant repertoire in selected exhibition rooms across The National Gallery by leading amateur young choirs.

At the centre of the festival is a lunchtime concert (1.15pm) given by Genesis Sixteen featuring works by Poulenc, Holst, Bertolusi, MacMillan, Byrd and Pizzetti at St-Martin-in-the-Fields.
