Genesis Sixteen in Oxford

Genesis Sixteen have posted a blog in advance of their Evensong on 16 August at Magdalen College Chapel and their lunchtime concert at Magdalen Auditorium on 18 August.

“The third cohort of our Genesis Sixteen training choir is coming to the end of its first week-long course. This is a unique and pioneering scheme for the next generation of young professional ensemble singers. The impact of the scheme is evident through the success of our alumni. Many of them are involved in new groups and projects including the Fieri Consort, the Erebus Ensemble, Eo Nomine and King’s Baroque. In addition to this, several of them are now performing, touring and recording with professional ensembles across the UK. They continue to share their skills and give something back by taking part in education projects with Spitalfields Music Summer Festival, Voces Cantabiles and the London Youth Choirs. If, perchance, you are in Oxford this weekend, come and hear Genesis Sixteen sing Evensong in Magdalen College Chapel tomorrow (Friday 16th) at 17.00. There is also a free concert on Sunday at 13.15 in Magdalen College Auditorium.”
