Genesis Sixteen singers join Mary King to perform at Southbank Centre
Thursday, 31 January 2013
Leading vocal coach and Southbank Centre Artist in Residence Mary King has invited a group of Genesis Sixteen alumni to take part in a performance as part of Southbank Centre’s The Rest is Noise festival.
‘Songs my mother taught me’ explores some of the most enchanting and exciting vocal music of the early 20th century, all stimulated by folk music of different countries, and originating in the work of the great ‘folk collectors’ – Kodaly, Vaughan Williams and Janacek.
‘Songs my mother taught me’ takes place in the Purcell Room on Sunday 3 February at 5.30pm, and is free to ticket holders for the evening concert. To find out more and book tickets, visit Southbank Centre’s website.
