John Studzinski honoured at Barnard College’s Annual Gala

John Studzinski, Founder and Chairman of the Genesis Foundation, has been honoured at Barnard College’s Annual Gala for his charitable contributions to young people in the arts.

Barnard is a private women’s liberal arts college in New York and one of the Seven Sisters, a group of elite liberal arts colleges in the Northeastern United States that are historically women only.

In this video John talks about his approach to philanthropy, why he is a fan of Barnard College and President Debora L. Spar and the importance of scholarships, which were auctioned at the Gala dinner for Barnard students last night. Mentioning the three aspects of philanthropy; time, talent and treasure, his key philosophy behind the Genesis Foundation, he also explains how this is something all education institutions today need to mentor and nurture young artists.

The dinner, award ceremony and scholarship auction took place at the Plaza Hotel in New York, raising $5.6 million towards Barnard College’s financial aid programme and faculty support.
