Jonathan Harvey’s Wagner Dream opens at Welsh National Opera

On June 6 Welsh National Opera presents the UK staged premiere of Jonathan Harvey’s Wagner Dream. The revival production is directed by Pierre Audi with assistance from Polly Graham, the 2013-15 Genesis Assistant Director. Premiered in Luxembourg in 2007, the piece explores how, on his Venetian deathbed, Wagner had a vision about writing an opera about the Buddhist faith. The opera is sung in German and  Pali, a 2000 year-old language, similar to Sanskrit.
