LAMDA Genesis graduate Ciarán Owens fundraises for 5-star play’s West End move

Former LAMDA Genesis scholar Ciarán Owens (class of 2011) has launched a fundraising campaign to bring his theatre company’s critically-acclaimed production of Philip Ridley’s Mercury Fur to the West End.

Mercury Fur is the debut production by Greenhouse Theatre Company, which was set up by two of Ciaran’s former LAMDA classmates, Henry Lewis and Joel Samuels. Set in a dystopian London ravaged by riots, Mercury Fur follows two brothers surviving the only way they know how – by organising sinister parties to realise their clients’ darkest fantasies.

Greenhouse Theatre Company’s production received 5-star reviews during its sell-out run at Islington’s Old Red Lion Theatre in April and has been long-listed for two Off West End Awards including Best Production. Ciarán stars in the lead role and fellow LAMDA Genesis graduate Sam Swann (class of 2010) has joined the cast for the West End run. The play is directed by Ned Bennett.
