Tickets are now available for Harry Christophers and The Sixteen’s concert ‘Stabat Mater 2014: Spirit, Strength and Sorrow’ at LSO St Luke’s on Wednesday 4 June at 1.00pm.
Mentored by James Macmillan and Harry Christophers, three leading composers, Alissa Firsova, Tõnu Kõrvits and Matthew Martin, have been commissioned by the Genesis Foundation to write three new Stabat Maters for The Sixteen which will receive their World Premieres at this free lunchtime concert at LSO St Luke’s.
The new works will be recorded on the CORO label for release next year.

In this film the Genesis Foundation caught up with the three composers, conductor of The Sixteen Harry Christophers, Associate conductor of The Sixteen Eamon Dougan, as well as the composer James MacMillan who has taken on a mentoring role with the three composers in this project, at a workshop with Genesis Sixteen.
