Welsh National Opera gives World Premiere of Gordon Getty’s Usher House
Friday, 25 April 2014
Genesis Assistant Director Polly Graham joins David Pountney in directing an exciting double bill of one-act operas at Welsh National Opera: the world staged premiere of Gordon Getty’s Usher House and a new completion of Debussy’s rarely-heard La Chute de la Maison Usher. Journalist and film critic Kim Newman has written a fascinating insight into the history of Poe’s short story in art, film and music. To read the full essay click here.
The double bill plays at Wales Millennium Centre from 13 to 15 June and Birmingham Hippodrome on 20 June. To book please visit WNO’s website here.
