Westminster Cathedral Choir sings for Cardinal Nichols and Pope Francis

This weekend, Westminster Cathedral Choir became the first non-Sistine Chapel Choir to sing at a Papal Mass. The choir, including Genesis Sixteen alumnus Edward McMullen, travelled to Rome to perform at the Consistory and Papal Sunday Mass to celebrate Archbishop Nichols, the head of the Catholic Church in England and Wales, becoming a Cardinal.

John Studzinski, Founder and Chairman of the Genesis Foundation, underwrote the choir’s expenses and accompanied the choir to the ceremony. After Papal Mass, each member of the choir met Pope Francis after giving a private performance of Bruckner’s ‘Tu Es Petrus.’
