A Doll’s House returns to the Young Vic

Carrie Cracknell’s critically acclaimed production of Ibsen’s A Doll’s House returned to the Young Vic by popular demand from 28 March until 20 April 2013.

In this video interview David Lan, Artistic Director, explains why the Genesis Directors Programme is so important to the Young Vic. Carrie Cracknell also tells us what it’s like to be a Genesis Fellow working on a new version of this 19th century classic with acclaimed playwright Simon Stephens and designer Ian MacNeil.

A Doll’s House originally ran from the 29 June until the 4 August 2012 and was met with outstanding praise from the national media; The Sunday Telegraph awarded it five stars saying “if you ever see a production of the play, make it be this one”, with the Financial Times praising it as “a riveting production of Ibsen’s classic led by a vivid, moving performance from Hattie Morahan.”

During the original run of this production, Hattie Morahan who plays Nora, won several accolades including Critics’ Circle and Evening Standard Awards for Best Actress and is nominated for Best Actress at the 2013 Olivier Awards. Hattie Morahan reprises her role as Nora alongside Dominic Rowan (“superb” – Time Out) as Torvald.
