Genesis LAMDA scholar Ryan Donaldson talks about new play ‘The Shelter’

In this short film the Genesis Foundation catches up with LAMDA Scholar Ryan Donaldson following his appearance in the world premiere of The Shelter, a play written by Matt Morrison.

The Shelter takes place at the start of the Blitz and is based on an extraordinary night when The Savoy Hotel was invaded by those protesting against the inequality of suffering at a time of national crisis.

The play has been researched and developed as part of a collaboration with students on the Three Year Acting Course as part of LAMDA’s New Writing Programme. Belfast-born Ryan is in his third and final year of the course and talks about his experience working on the play, the importance of new writing and the fantastic opportunities the Genesis LAMDA Scholarship has given him.
