The Genesis Foundation celebrates 10 years of partnership with the Young Vic

On 10 June 2013 the Genesis Foundation held its annual summer party at the Young Vic in celebration of 10 years’ partnership with the theatre.

The party featured specially-chosen scenes from plays set in a restaurant or bar directed by Genesis Fellow Natalie Abrahami. Later in the evening David Lan, artistic director of the Young Vic and John Studzinski, founder of the Genesis Foundation, announced that Matthew Xia is the new Genesis Future Director. Matthew comes to the Young Vic from the Liverpool Everyman and will direct Athol Fugard’s trailblazing anti-apartheid play Sizwe Banzi is Dead for his Young Vic debut opening on 18 September.
